Larry Casha is currently the Republican State Committeeman from Morris County and former Council President for the Borough of Kinnelon, serving on the Council from 2002 to 2007. He has chaired numerous committees and served on the Finance Committee. During his tenure on the Council, Larry showed effective leadership by working to consolidate health services, which reduced operating costs by 40%, protecting thousands of acres of open space, and keeping the municipal tax rate essentially flat, having increased only one half of one percent over his entire term. When, adjusted for inflation, municipal taxes actually DECREASED.
In the years 1999 through 2002, he served as a Trustee at the County College of Morris, once again serving on numerous committees, including the Finance Committee. During his tenure at the County College of Morris, tuition remained flat, as well. From 1998 to 2007 he served as a Legislative Aide to the 26th Legislative District working with both Senator Robert Martin and the late Assemblyman Alex DeCroce. He has also served on a New Jersey Senate Advisory Committee, the Montville Economic Development Committee and the Drug Awareness Council. He has served as Preside
nt of the local Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors since 1982.
Larry has served the local, county, state and national Republican Parties in many different capacities. Currently, he is Chairman of the Kinnelon Republican Committee.
To continue helping his community, Larry served on the Board of Morris First Night and volunteers legal services to the Montville First Aid Squad, as well as all Montville Fire Departments. He previously served as a Trustee on the Morris County Board of Realtors Pension Fund, and as an officer in UNICO, America’s largest Italian-American organization. He founded the Montville Shamrocks Association, an organization for area youths to participate in baseball programs beyond the traditional youth leagues (ages 15 and older). He has been inducted into the Montville High School Hall of Fame and conducts free informational seminars for seniors and first-time homebuyers in and about the Morris County area.
Larry received a Bachelors of Science Degree with a double major in marketing and management from Montclair State University in 1976. Upon graduation, he took a position as assistant to the President of Hazel Bishop Cosmetics. In 1977, he left that position to attend Law School graduating Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1980 from the University of New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce Law Center, Concord, New Hampshire. Upon graduation, his entrepreneurial drive helped him found the law firm of Casha & Casha LLC, which has been recognized as one of the premier firms in the Morris County area.
Larry is a life-long resident of Morris, Essex and Passaic County’s 26th Legislative District, growing up in Montville and graduating from Montville High School, where he met his wife, Debra, who he has been married to for 33 years.
